March 26, 1992: Kai Choi, our first musical director, led the first working committee meeting of the Sugar Land Community Orchestra

Summer 1992: First concert (Habitat for Humanity)

1995: Changed name to Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra

Aug 1995: Musicians required to audition

Nov 11, 1995 First concert as The Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra

1997: John Ricarte became our second musical director

1997-8 Season: Started charging admission to concerts

1998: Incorporated in the state of Texas as a non-profit organization

February 12, 2000: First Annual Young Artists Concerto Competition

2000-1 Season: Musical director started receiving small stipend

2004-5 Season: First year to receive $10,000 NEA Grant

2006: First concert in Stafford Centre

2007-8 Season: Conductor 'auditions' resulted in Hector Aguero becoming FBSO's third musical director

2014: After serving as associate musical director, Dr. Dominique Royem became our fourth musical director
